    Sport’s Area Improvement Plan Information

    Dear Parent(s)/Carer(s)

As part of our annual review programme we have set up Area Improvement Process weeks for all areas of school life, including each Faculty and House as well as other areas including Gifted & Talented provision and Enrichment (OPT4). The current area to undergo the AIP process is our SPORT Faculty.

A key feature of our review work is to take on board the views of all stakeholders including students and parent(s)/carer(s); it is with this in mind that I write to ask if you would be willing to complete the enclosed questionnaire in order for us to evaluate fully the performance of our SPORT Faculty.

Your Son/Daughter has been asked to complete a similar questionnaire and to attend a group interview with a Senior Leader to discuss in detail student opinion of performance in our SPORT Faculty. This interview is scheduled to take place for 30 minutes during the school day on Monday 10 May 2010, during the interview  will be asked to hand in both completed questionnaires. This will take place between 13:15 pm and 13:45 pm in the Sixth Form Conference Room. I felt it essential that parents were given the opportunity to comment on all areas of our provision regardless of when in the academic year each AIP takes place.

Thank you in anticipation of your support with this request.  If you have any queries, questions or comments then please do not hesitate to contact me on kboyle@nunthorpe.co.uk or on 01642 310561 ext 165.

    Yours sincerely

    New website launched!

Welcome to Nunthorpe School’s brand new, state of the art website!

At last, here it is! We do hope that you find our new, vastly improved website a distinct improvement on our last.

You should not only find the website far more attractive to look at, but you should also find its ‘functionality’ much improved. Our website is now much easier to use with key items you are searching for more easily found.

We, as ever, welcome all comments on our new website; those can be e-mailed to Sean Matthews (our Acting Website Manager) at webman@nunthorpe.co.uk

Please send your comments in to us – both praise and suggestions for improvement are more than welcome.

    Best Wishes

Nunthorpe students have a new school website!

Welcome to our new school website, we hope you enjoy it!

Many school websites are out of date, difficult to access, not student centred and all round dull. Our new web site is none of those things. It now has a fantastic new look and has lots of new, interesting and relevant content.

I am one member of a team of fantastic, hard working prefects in school. We take part in house duties, helping out the PDLs and APDLs with tasks in house areas and tutor groups, and helping the house to benefit from the decisions and contributions that we make. We also take part in one early morning duty, one break duty and one lunch duty per week, alongside a member of staff. This makes us visible and approachable in the school community, and along with our own ties, matching our house colour, makes us instantly recognisable. As a group, we have a positive influence and consider ourselves to be a helpful role model to all the students.

I hope that this blog post in the new student section of our website will be the first of many and hopefully will make students feel part of the site, encouraging them to participate and get more involved with the content posted online.
