Year 11 Final Letter
Dear Parent(s)/Carer(s)
As we approach the end of this half term we are allowing Year 11 students to commence their study leave in preparation for the increasing number of Examinations commencing Monday 7 June 2010. It is traditional for us to hold a final Year 11 assembly to say thank you and good luck to students, and this will be held at 10.30 am on Friday 28 May 2010 in the main school hall. Once this has finished students will be allowed to leave school and return home. We anticipate all students being off the main school site by lunch time at 12.20 pm. Once students have left the school site they must leave the area immediately and behave responsibly in the community. We have never had a problem with Year 11 students following these occasions and we look forward to a smooth exit from site.
On Friday students are permitted to bring to school an additional shirt for signing, this must be in addition to the one they are wearing. Students are not allowed to have other students sign the shirt they are wearing – if this happens students will be sent home immediately and will miss the assembly. We want Friday to be an enjoyable day for all students and staff, however, uniform and behaviour standards must be perfect. Failure to abide by these expectations may result in students forfeiting their place at the Prom and Celebration of Achievement. Please support us in enforcing these standards and expectations with your son/daughter.
There are additional revision classes in half term, details of these have been shared with students from each class to which they apply but further information will be available on our school website by the end of the week. On the reverse of this letter are details regarding our Sixth Form Enrolment and other significant dates – please ensure you consult these before planning a holiday! Induction programmes form an important part of students Sixth Form experience and should not be missed.
Finally, on Wednesday 26 May 2010 students not taking part in the additional Mathematics, English or Science revision programme will be permitted to leave school for “Home Study” during Opt 4 time (commencing at 2.00 pm). A study room will be provided for students who do not wish to go home or should you wish your son/daughter to remain in school they can use this facility. Please do not hesitate to contact me at the school dpage@nunthorpe.co.uk should you wish to discuss this or any other matter relating to the final weeks of your son/daughter’s time in Year 11.
Yours sincerely
