At Nunthorpe School we work in partnership with several parent support and family mediation groups.

Nunthorpe School and the Kara Project have opened a ‘drop-in’ support service for parents in our Youth & Community Centre, which is easily accessible without needing to enter the school.

The service runs on Wednesdays (during Term Time) from 8.30am – 11.00am. To make an appointment for a confidential chat, please ring 01642 310561.

The Kara Family Project

Aims:

In partnership with local communities, the project provides a range of family support services which aim to enhance the quality of life for families by enabling the family to address their own areas of need by development of skills and abilities.

Services:

  • Provides a range of services and activities to children, young people and parents;
  • Extra support to individual families;
  • Holiday events for children and families;
  • Opportunities for volunteering;
  • Parenting courses;
  • Parent support groups;
  • After school groups;
  • One to one work with children and young people;
  • Training;
  • Consultancy; and
  • Junior YIP (Youth Inclusion Project).
