Learning Resource Centre

The Learning Resource Centre

The Learning Resource Centre houses fiction books, biographies, classical books, comics, magazines and newspapers. It is open every break time for borrowing and returning books and reservations can be made for lunchtime access for quiet reading or homework. Fiction books are situated in the E Learning Zone. A search star touch screen facility is available to help you locate the most suitable books for your needs. Two books, or more by arrangement, may be borrowed by students or staff for a period of two weeks at a time. Student librarians are trained to operate the Eclipse Data base library system and to assist students in both the Resource Centre and E Learning Zone at lunchtime.

We are proud to participate in the annual ’Booked Up’ government scheme which provides all year seven students with a free book to encourage reading. Every half term students are able to order books from the Cover 2 Cover book scheme for Schools which not only offers books at very reasonable prices but commission obtained helps to keep our library stocked with up to date books.

The centre is also available for meetings etc. by prior arrangement.

Fully detailed images of the Learning Resource Centre can be found in the 360 degree tour, under the ‘library’ tab.
