Full details of Key Stage 4 Options are available to download in the Options Booklet for each academic year. These will be available on the website when they are published.

In years 10 and 11 all students study the following subjects to GCSE level:
(The number of hours per week are shown in brackets)

  • GCSE English (3) (Language and Literature)
  • GCSE Mathematics (3) (Further Maths for selected classes only)
  • GCSE Science (3) (Dual for all, unless separate sciences are taken as an option)

Students also have 2 hours of Physical Education per week and follow a programme of PSHE which is delivered in tutorial. These subjects form the statutory Core Curriculum.

NB Please not that the information above is correct for the academic year starting in September 2014. The options booklet referred to above is currently the 2014 booklet used by those students currently in Year 10. A new options booklet can be found here when available, January 2015.

Optional Study

Students choose to study courses in three additional subjects for 3 hours each per week.

Opt 4

Whilst this still appears on the curriculum plans above, the opt 4 programme, was removed from September 2014. Initially this is a one year proposal. The discussions around the new curriculum for 2015/16 will determine whether this use of Wednesday lesson 5 continues beyond next academic year.
