Last week saw 80 years since victory was declared in Europe. To acknowledge the landmark celebrations for people across Europe and the world, students across years seven to thirteen took part in a two minute silence on Thursday. They were also activities celebrating the national 'beacon of light' campaign, which has been the focus of celebrations in the UK this year. Further to this, Vice Principal Mrs. Chapman Jones and Assistant Head Teacher Mrs. Arnold led assemblies on the importance of VE Day; educating students on why we celebrate it and how the skills and qualities of people who fought in WW2 are still relevant to today.
