Governor Opportunities

At the core of Nunthorpe Academy’s ethos are the valued positive relationships between staff and students and we are proud of our friendly and purposeful atmosphere. Acknowledging and rewarding excellent behaviour, hard work, personal responsibility and participation are all integral to our high levels of achievement.

Your role as a governor would be to promote the ethos of Nunthorpe Academy, whilst also considering the interests of the Trust, its Academies; the staff, students and parents. To help you in your role you will receive training and support.

A certain level of time commitment is required to fulfill your responsibilities as a governor, including time to attend meetings and to read papers prior to these meetings. Governors are expected to have the ability to build relationships and to be able to critically challenge and support those responsible for the management and direction of the Academy and Trust.

Becoming a governor is a very fulfilling and rewarding role. If you are interested, we would like to hear from you.

To find out more about what the role entails, please contact Mrs Ruth Callaghan – Compliance Clerk (rcallaghan@nunthorpe.co.uk)
