Notice regarding Swans Corner Roundabout Improvement Works

Dear all

Thank you to all parents / carers and students that have supported the requested traffic management guidance shared prior to the Swans Corner roundabout works starting yesterday.

I have been contacted by R&C council to request further support and action if you use the North side A171:

“A number of parents are dropping their children off on the north side of the A171 Middlesbrough Road using lane one of the carriageway or the footway to park. The A171 is a dual carriageway primary route with a 50mph speed limit. Parents are taking a great risk doing this and endangering not only themselves and their children but other road users as well. Esh Construction during the course of the scheme will be alternatively closing lane one and lane two of Middlesbrough Road, any parents attempting to park along this section of carriageway will interfere with Esh’s work and also impede the flow of traffic. I would be grateful if you would pass this message on to all parents not to use Middlesbrough Road as a drop off point and to follow the guidance that has been provided.”

Many thanks for your support in keeping our students safe during these works. May the sun continue to shine to prevent the requests for lifts to school.
