Essanyu - The Nunthorpe Help Africa Appeal
Last year in our school, a group of staff and students established Essanyu-The Nunthorpe
Help Africa Appeal. Essanyu means happiness in Luganda (a Ugandan language) and the
appeal, which is linking our school with Ndekye School in Uganda, aims to bring happiness to
everyone involved.
Essanyu has applied to the Evening Gazette's Wish 2009 campaign. We would like your
help in collecting the tokens that will be printed in the paper from Wednesday 30th
September for 9 weeks. More details here.
OFSTED - Nunthorpe Monitoring Visit - Thursday 4th June 2009
Available for download is a copy of a report from Paul Hancock, HMI, who visited our school on the above date. You will see from the report that we have been deemed to be making 'good and rapid' progress in the 3 areas for improvement which were identified during our most recent OFSTED Inspection in February 2008.
More Good News for our School!
It is with great pleasure that we write to you with some important news about our school.
Nunthorpe is one of only 666 high performing secondary schools across England selected to
attend a celebration dinner in London this week.
Our superb GCSE and BTEC examination results in Summer 2008 have meant that the
Specialist Schools and Academies Trust ('SSAT') have invited our school to join their exclusive
list of high performing secondary schools.
